Funny you should say that, last night was the best nights sleep I've had in ages, slept right through from 9 to 6 this morning

Have the greenies blamed global warming for it yet?

Well I can recall waking up thinking "Is my bed moving?" and looking around realising it was! Then I promptly went back to sleep. Surprised that I did'nt find it more alarming really.

It is all down to global warming! This is a warning from Mother Earth. She has had enough of the abuse that humans have been giving her. We must change our ways and give up our cars. Only then will she forgive us.

Only kidding.

There's a lot of fuss on the radio this morning. I doubt anyone would have noticed much in SE England. I felt a wobble and thought, "I bet someone will have posted on PH." It was a wobble, that's all. People are acting like it's the end of the world. I think it shows how many people lead dull, meaningless lives.

I didn't feel the earth move. Slept like a log.

No, never felt one before, but it didn't shake enough to warrant me doing anything more than click on PH. However, so many people are phoning radio stations in this area telling them of their experiences. I would say it's yesterday's news, except it happened this morning.

I've felt one before in Nottingham about 5 years ago. Was just one big thump and that was it, a lot of people didn't even notice it. This was enough to wake me up and to feel the room shaking. I was surprised the epicentre was as far away as Lincolnshire.

That's a weird one.

Last night when I felt the shake, I thought it was a lorry on the main road about 50m away, but the pulsating was wrong and too long (up to 2 seconds vs a one off jolt) so realised it was an earthquake. It was quite entertaining, really.

It is weird. I'm in a 2nd floor flat, with the bedroom effectively on the 3rd floor, so perhaps this exagerated the movement for me? I spoke to a friend who lives in Reading too and he did'nt notice it at all.

Ditto.

I checked the time and went back to sleep. Certainly wasn't impressive enough to justify all the news coverage this morning IMO.
