Oh, and very shortly after Shabs arrived, another local SAS PHer had a nasty-sounding accident right outside the house eek

Shabs and I popped out to provide a hand - fortunately, the car was drivable, and no-one hurt. I'll not comment on who it was, etc, etc.

Only stuff like this can happen on PH!

Hey, no worries. Glad he's found a good home, and it leaves room for a stray to wander in. The last one arrived in the back garden having been booted from a car on the main road. The one before that adopted me at an open air gig.

A quick update ...... as it would appear we have some folks with baited breath ....

Well, Shabs and Mrs. Shabs (a truly lovely couple) came, along with Chops.

3+ hours later, Shabs and Mrs Shabs have left ....... and Chops has stayed bounce

He's a lovely lovely, friendly, happy, playful dog thumbup

He loves Kinky Junior, Homer (our dog), and has met the 2 rabbits. Topaz the cat has loitered, but has not really shown her face properly as yet. No spits or claws so far.

I'll post some pics shortly - if he stays still for a few seconds to grab one hehe

Thank you Marty and Astrid - I truly cannot express that enough.

K & the family Kinky.
Well Kinky and family Kinky, we made it home with lots of tears. That deranged laugh that you must have heard outside your house was me after Mrs Shabs looked at me with a tear stained face half hidden behind dark glasses and whimpered, "do you want me to drive?".

Thank you guys so much for taking Choppies, he is a lovely boy and we both miss him dearly, but I could see him bonding with Kinky Junior and I hope those two will be best mates for a long time to come. You guys are a great family and we feel lucky to have found a perfect place for our little boy to grow up / old.

Thanks also for lunch and sorry for being so late that we had to impose on you! Please keep the Shabs family updated on how Chops is going.

Tallbloke, thanks for your help and also for being a top bloke.

Yeah - tell me about it. His allegiance is Renault - and I can't understand why - certainly no influence in the family frown If it was, it would be Williams, and whichever team Vittel is driving for thumbup

And he put this shirt on this morning, not knowing any details on the race - he is that loyal.

Thanks mate, much appreciated (and more tears from Mrs Shabs wink she is really glad he is happy)! Amazing how such a big heart and big personality can fit in such a little dog! I think I see the beginnings of a beautiful friendship between Chops and Kinky Junior. Do please keep us updated and look forward to catching up at a PH meet in the future.

Hi Shabs,

Luke has just gone to bed, with Chops at the end of the Bed, Kinky is reading Astrosaurs to them both. I have to say Luke is over the moon and Chops has had some new toys too, as we went to Pet Kindgdom to top up on dog food, Luke persuaded me into a squeaky ball and some sort of long toy looks like a flat tenis ball on a rope.

He has also had his first walk on the Rec with Homer though we kept Chops on the lead, just until he gets used to us.

It was lovely to meet you both and I hope we meet again soon.

Sue smile

Nice thread, with a happy ending. My girlfriend and I were just looking at the snaps of Chops - he seems to have adapted quickly.

All the best.

So far so good thumbup

Today, he's been to school, been to the local rec (twice) for a romp, met the local dog groomer (where our other dog was already booked in for today), and hopefully he'll get signed up for this:
http://www.madkathagility.com/Agility%20Training.h...

Oh - and his blog will be coming shortly wink

He does not see eye to eye with the cat yet (or vice versa) - but hopefully in a few days that will all be sorted (where the fingers crossed smiley?)

K

ETA: I also forgot to mention that he popped in to meet the local vet (just around the corner from us) thumbup
