M5 I presume? A non-BMW alternator shouldn't be 'too' expensive?

If it's any consolation my 'Valve Chest' is fecked, so the RS6 is booked back in to Camberley for the end of Jan... I can then get it back to DRC to sort the hesitation at 3k revs - which I reckon will be another MAF under warranty!

It's the mechatronics module that controls the gearshifts - series of pressure valves that monitor the auto-box. Been experiencing the occassional jerk duiring up-shifts when the gearbox oil is cold, even in 'D'ull mode and this is whats causing it. Sometimes it will even miss a gear which keeps you on your toes! Fine when warmed up.

Best news is that this means they have to flush and replace the gearbox and transmission oil/filters as part of the work and therefore warranty will pay for that too and save me or the next owner shelling out 500'ish for it! This isn't a required service but is recommended every 60k miles or so by loads of people on RS246.

John, that's the thing about Audi ownership, you're starting to see the silver lining when things break. Good work.
