Hi guys,

Just trying to guage interest in this trip i was planning last year.

The idea would be to go to Scotland for a week and do a variation on the "850 mile lap" sometime around the end of June or beginning of July, before the school holidays, or mid September after the school holidays.

Roughly:
Day 1 - drive to Edinburgh
Day 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - do "the lap", finishing in Edinburgh
Day 7 - drive back

More info on "the lap" here: http://www.rioprestige.com/driving/the-lap-of-scot...

I'm going. biggrin

Can't remember the road and don't have pics, but one of the roads that cuts north to fort william is mental, you can see for miles!

that'll be the A82, it goes up past loch lomond then ontowards fort bill then across to inverness on the east coast. Its a bit narrow alongside the loch but when you pass it it really opens out, just watch for the police at the bridge of orchy. Theres a walking route called the west highland way that goes from glasgow to fort william and kind of runs the same route, the scenery is spectacular whether youre walking or driving.

This may help:

There are some good videos of driving in Scotland ( and some hypercars!) here:

I invented the now famous "Lap of Scotland", so if you need any advice, just let me know!

I think Pete was actually planning on dropping you a line when we were talking about this last year and seeing if we'd be able to pop in and say hi at some point! beer
