I'm sensing a bit of a cash shortage for us all this year. John, Dave, Nick, Robbie, Me, and I guess potentially others. It wasn't so much just the cost of the accommodation and petrol, the levels of alcohol and food expenditure and intake were quite astounding too hehe

Any thoughts from those who went about postponing the re-run till 2011, and just having a few drunken BBQ's, local hoons, and some 4WDing instead in 2010??

We could also (possibly) do a weekend in Wales, rather than a whole week of hardcore drinking and hooning. I'm up for '11 providing it's outside of Uni term time, i.e. June or later, like before.

Based on current finances, I'm sorry to say that postponment would probably suit me aswell! I am rather hoping the situation will improve before May but, who knows...

Will start saving now for 2011!!!

Also, being a student I can't help pointing out that cost's almost as much as our week in Scotland!

I thought as much. I'm not having a dig at PN, I think it looks great but possibly not what us SAS are looking for. I think the standard of accomodation for the Scotland trip was perfect (bar the bunkhouse!) and the food and drink was great too considering it was all inclued for £250 or whatever we paid.

I'm guessing you would want to organise another trip outside of work though as you probably do enough of that as it is.

Erm... beer

I do remember buying a bottle of wine, but then having many other drinks bought for me so I do remember that drink wasn't included, however I thought food was included for some reason.

Cheers for the email, puts things into perspective! YHM

hehe I do remember paying for food throughout the week, although in Scotland I have to say it was bloody cheap. The drink might have been too if we hadn't made a concious effort to drink the hoteliers out of everything they had... every night thumbup

I've done the triangle and surrounds a few times, week days and weekends. Unless you get out very early on a Saturday or Sunday there's a real risk of a partially hidden BIB on a bike at weekends, so, if you go - be careful out there (or just drive slowly and enjoy the scenery!). They usually sits up near the reservoir.
