The Nags Head - Reading

  • Great real ale pub which also offers Sweeney Tood pies (limited stocks).
  • More about the beer than the decor or location but if you like beer, good atmosphere and music, this'll do for a few hours.
The Three Frogs - Wokingham
  • Good Food and Drink.
  • Formerly a Hungry Horse (eek) but now a great little pub with decent decor, a good selection of real ale and lagers.

The White Lion - Crays Pond, Reading
  • Good Food and Drink.
  • Good all rounder - great beers and good food.
Bel and Dragon - Blakes Lock, Reading
  • Good Food and Drink.
  • More of a restaurant with bar than a pub but a decent enough place for a few drinks before heading into the restaurant for food.
  • Order anything from the wood burning oven and if it's on - the rib of beef served with garlic fried green beans, bearnaise sauce and fondant potato is something else. I got the meat shakes after finishing that smile
The Four Horseshoes - Checkendon
  • Good Food and Drink.
  • Pretty country pub - getting tired now but good in the summer.
The Magpie and Parrot - Shinfield
  • Good Food and Drink.
  • Bit of an odd pub (converted from a house's front room) but great owners and a fantastic summer pub.
  • Get some mates together, pre-order a keg of ale (or two) and the full hog roast. Happy days.
  • Infact, this should be a PH summer thing. Plenty of roads around there too.....
