So far I have a grinder, a 44 gallon drum, and a motorised rotisserie. I just need to make a frame for it all smile

Does anyone have some angle iron or steel box section around that they would be willing to sell. I need about 5 metres in total.

I know it is available of ebay brand new, but it is fairly expensive for both the metal and shipping.

I feel a good kiwi SAS BBQ meet coming on the events list soon...

Dexion might do the trick! Is it the home sized stuff with the angle iron corners about 25mm wide?

I only need shortish lengths for 4 legs, then a couple of pieces to mount the rotisserie on.

Happy to buy it off you with cash/ beer/ bbq food if you care to look it out. biggrin

BTW - I did think about using something car related to build it (boot lid, etc), but 44 gallon drums just work so well!

Sounds like the size. Will battle the spiders/lawnmower/assorted old car bits that 'might be useful oneday' this afternoon.

I'm quite handy with a welder if you need some help.

Brilliant! My welding wasn't too bad a few years ago, but the main problem now is... I don't have a welder. I was going to bolt it together, but will definitely take you up on the offer if you don't mind Pete.

I think this BBQ is going to need tested at or place sometime in April wink

I'm happy to do the welding but i don't actually have a working welder any more. Used to borrow a mate's MIG or use my old arc welder (which is now busted) but happy to TIG or even braze if you can find the kit for it...

I have a 300 Arc Tech set down the lock up. (Camberley)
But you would need to bring the items down there.
Drills and Grinders too. (for cutting drum open)
Also have tube bender but no suitable tube or box section unless you want
heavy gauge 60mm tube.

Can meet you down there early evening next week.

Ricki, the workshop sounds like a great idea! Ill get everything cut up beforehand to make it easier. Are you out for a drink at the Stag tomorrow?

I might sound greedy, but for the monstrosity that I'm planning, I need both the box section AND your shed special material! (If you are still in a sharing mood hehe ) How were the spiders???

Think the rats ate them.... hehe

8 right angle sections, just over 3cm each side, about 1m long.
