Any updates on these recommendations... fourteen years on? I imagine that West Wittering isn't as quiet any longer?
I was there last Saturday and it was surprisingly busy. Certainly hundreds of cars in the car park
at £10.50 - £14 a go for the full day.

On this basis, I'd avoid it if you can on the six weekends of the kids summer holidays.
You'll do more queueing than sitting on the beach, I suspect.

Same as Camber Sands & Brighton. Hundreds of cars in traffic jams on those six weekends
because folks decide they want a day on the beach.
Also Wittering car park is an absolute mess, given you pay for it, one would have thought they could at least sort out the huge potholes and areas where water gathers.

I grew up in Eastbourne and the beach there was crap so Camber Sands was the place to go. Did get very busy and one time it was so busy the police were turning people around before they got there.

However, my parents told me the other day that it now costs £30 to park there for the day. Wonder if that might tone the numbers down a bit.

Why people sit in huge queues for Brighton beach is beyond me, absolute st hole
