1st Wednesday Club

We should all be sat over in the far left of the pub next to the fire. If we haven't been able to get that place, we will be close by, we'll probably be the only group in the pub with notepads and I'll probably bring along my laptop too so we should be easy to spot. The other group there on a Tuesday is the historic motorbike club and they're easy to distiguish from us car lovers and they are sat in the side room, away from the main bar.
It's next week and of course, Wednesday. Looks like it'll be a good (10+) turnout so considering we're running out of chairs in the 3M, how about us migrating to The Windmill on the A30. It's altogether a better class of pub than my local, should have ample seating at 8pm and is pretty accessible. There will have been lots of progress made since the last one so I can't wait to see what's happened over the last month
Just a reminder that it's tonight.
I've a few updates personally, got back in front of some potential investors/partners on a new idea and had really positive feedback.
And, I have a new group of 'Dragons' who are looking for new ideas and are willing to come across and meet with us on a Wednesday (one to one, some time soon) to talk potential investment in anything any of us have developed...the er gauntlet is down!

Oatcakes and cheese are worth a try. Apparently 100 years ago when Stokey soldiers returned from time in India they asked their wives to create chapaties, industrious lot that they are they turned to oats and hey presto, it's a staple of the Stoke diet and seamingly nowhere else (they taste nothing like chapaties btw). They are cheap and filling especially if your a student around those parts

Over the past year we have had lots of people who have come along, thinking that maybe they either don't have anything to offer or that what they do is too specific for this forum to be useful to them. Everyone who has come along has pretty much come away with their head spinning with ideas and new contacts, I can hand on heart say that no one has never turned up and presented something, sought answers and not got anything useful back, it's staggering the amount of resources and knowledge and capability at these meetings. It would be worth coming along and seeing what happens, worst case you just meet a new load petrolheads and enjoy the beer selection, best case we solve all of your business 'challenges'

I may try to pop down tonight, and possibly bring the OH as she is much more switched on than me, although i do feel i fall firmly into the "not much to contribute" category.
I will even try to arrive before everyone is getting ready to leave this time.

they are becoming so busy that there is plenty of space for people who just want to sit, listen and drink, and even occasionally say ''rubbish'', ''that's brilliant'', ''I'm in''...

Gus, it can be incredibly useful just to have people there to bounce ideas off. You may be a potential consumer or customer of products and services that people are considering.
I certainly value getting as many opinions as possible from as wide a variety of people as I can.
that was the more intelligent response I certainly value getting as many opinions as possible from as wide a variety of people as I can.
Thanks Ted. I really enjoyed it and was so pleased to see ideas genuinely moving on. And, it's good that some people turn up with a desire to create something and make their fortune, but don't currently have an idea. That in itself is a problem that the group can probably fairly easily solve, not only that, it's good fun to do it and even if what eventually succeeds looks nothing like what you started with, each month if it is potentially tweaked and improved upon, with such a good bunch of brains at every meeting the idea should quickly be steered on to a course that will ensure the business works.
