Thanks Les - I'm really looking forward to it's arrival. I've had some good suggestions on specialist independants for servicing so think i'm sorted on that front now. I bought it privately and was supposed to pick it up from Gray Paul in Nottingham on Friday after they had completed the 190 point check which I had instructed, just to be on the safe side. I hit the button to send the money at 2pm and it still hadnt arrived by 5pm. Turns out HSBC's interbank payment system went down. It's not all bad though as the check brought up some work that needs doing on the ball joints. They said that they will do it for me under warranty and then deliver it down on a truck on Friday. I was steaming but i've cooled down now and think it's probably best to have it all ship shape (until the service is due!) before I use it. Really looking forward to taking it on the Shire Run on sunday am. Just hope I actually get it in time!!! You could try calling Ian Wright at Star Motors in Caversham. They're a Mercedes Benz Indi however Ian Ian owns a 430 and he may do some maintenance himself

But there is an Indy garage that is run my an ex marenallo guy!! Don't know if it still around as was 5 years ago I heard of it, but it's localism to marenallos and was in the thomsonlocal! Sorry I can't be more help! Is that the one in Old Windsor? I used to get my cars MOT'd there. It was recommended to me from another mechanic (trusted). I guess Nigel can confirm 4uCars in Old Windsor always seem to have a lot of Ferrari stuff outside, plus there is a garage in Winkfield Row, opposite the Squirrel Pub that is a Ferrari specialist ( in the old Hastings bodyshop site )

They did the last service on my 550 for the previous owner. In Camberley are Neal Lucas Sports Cars and not far away at Dunsfold is SMDG Both of these advertise in the FOC magazine.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm new to the area and looking forward to getting this plus the other motors out on some of the weekend runs i've read about on here. I thought you said in your initial post that you'd already bought it? It appears on reading your most recent posts that you are waiting for it then? Sounds a little like trolling IMO. You bought an F430 Spider after doing 'limited' research and don't even look at what the annual service costs might be? Forgive my scepticism, but your OP didn't sound too believable.

Well, it happens a lot and people are normally fairly quick to call it as its very easy to state you have something over the internet.
However, if people see you at the Sunday meet, then fair play.

Forgive me but why would I care if people believed me?? I made this posting for advice not to get anyone's approval!! Best wishes, J CypherP said: Well, it happens a lot and people are normally fairly quick to call it as its very easy to state you have something over the internet.

No one has to believe you, but on a motoring forum, it helps!
I'm glad you've got some advice though and enjoy your F430.

The MI5 Director General, or the MP for Cardiff North? I was more inclined to go with the link in his profile.. I saw the link and followed that, and seems to make sense. Fair play if he's just got an F430, I'd be incredibly happy in his position. The only issue I had with the OP was although I understand that servicing any vehicle these days can be expensive, I thought it a little odd to be spending that kind of money on a Ferrari with limited research and no real idea of servicing or maintenance costs? If that is the case then I'm very envious of having enough money not to have to consider those factors!

Whilst I'm not skint I don't like to through money away. This, coupled with them always treating me like a second class citizen, is why I made the post about not wanting to use a main dealer for my servicing.
I must say that whilst they have only done the 190 check for me, Gray Paul in Nottingham have been first class. Shame they are twice the price of some of the independents that have been suggested to me for the annual service!!

At least you've had the check done. If I was spending that kind of money on a car, then I'd want everything to be right before I drive away in it.

OP, I'm interested in your views about Maranello Egham. Have you had bad experience with them? The rules of PH say you can't post bad stuff openly, but if you click on my user name you can send me an e mail. The reason I ask is that I may be about to share some "hard earned" with them, and it is always best going in with your eyes open. Thanks, oh and welcome
