After riding sportsbikes on 2K mileage holidays and many cars. Could you drive this North to South through France in a day and then spend all day in it over the next few days driving the mountain roads of the Pyrenees, and live to tell the tail?
Easy just pop in some ear plugs or an iPod. But I would take 2 days and go the route napoleon

Well it looks great in black. The headlight surround blends in nicely and the straight-sided appearance (imho) seems greatly reduced. Lovely car! Thanks for taking the time to post the pics and the updates too. You must be well chuffed!
Thanks. The small amount if carbon round the lights and behind the doors look good I think I might add a small amount of colour to the black but can't decide what colour ...
May be orange to match seats etc Did a some more miles
Still all in one peice. And I learned 2 things.
Thing one you can fit a 6ft7 man inside. And they can just drive it but you can't get them out !!!
And it's not a car to drive if your a bit hanging. As the noise was killing me
Great to see some decent pics and hear of some real life use.
These were on my list late last year, but I decided it would be too hard core for my particular use so went for a used Evora instead. Still might have decided differently if I had ever got down to Hexham to test theirs.
I did wonder if it was the sort of car that I could run for a few thousand miles and 12 months or so, and sell for not much of a loss if I found it too uncompromising.

hermes my thoughts on your question (as someone who doesn't own a G40):
Better Engine
Better Transmission
Better layout - Better handling dynamics - Better visibility/interior rearward view (Overall - Front engine vs. mid) I'll go out on a limb and guess the G40 has a lower center of gravity.
New and different with a different visual appeal. A rear view mirror is nice instead of having to constantly using side mirrors to see behind. Current factory tested racing pedigree.
I'm slipping into my flame suit now . . .

Just wondering.....for £30k what's this got that an Exige hasn't?
Full FIA cage and very strong tubular chassis.Easily repairable if damaged.
Conventional drivetrain layout with probably more predicatable on limit handling.
Elise far superior in terms of fit, finish, refinement, detailing etc.
So if predominantly for the track then G40R an interesting option, if mainly for road or only car then I think Exige.
I did a lot of looking and a bit of testing before this
I was looking for a more track focused car with the possibility to race it if I can find the time
Have looked a lotus before. But they need a few bits adding to make up to race spec
And for me I have to have a boot as that's my wife's only requirement
That you can take an over night bag (apparently you need more than pants and tooth brush)
I looked at building some thing from an m3 Getting. A caterham ( no boot )
Already had Porsche and tvrs. Then saw the g 40 was looking at putting an ex race car on the road
But they hold there money well
What won me over. It has all the bits you would want so no real bead to up grade any thing
For a bit. You can run up to 300 Bhp and you can get that off the shelf for a price
Has LSD has good brakes has good peddle box with brake bias adjustment
The finish in places is a bit suspect but its all grp
So you could spend some time adjusting the fit
Worst bit is door cards but that is just being picky
I like the looks so that wins for me
I would recommend a drive to any one
You will want one as soon as you do
