Not a very good Autocar update this week. Tiny piece, only an alternator failure to report. A shame after mostly positive response so far.

Well I have to say that we've now got our demo car and it's great! I've done just over 200 miles in it and it's starting to 'loosen' up nicely. It attracts lots of favourable attention and I've yet to see another anywhere on the road, so it's pretty exclusive. Once we've got up to the 1k mark then we'll be off to find a trackday to see what it can do!

How does it compare with say a Griffith or Elise?

Saw you had one on your website the other day.

Might well pop in soon to have a look on a return from Silverlink to Edinburgh - looks too hardcore for the road for me, but so different it's tempting!

A London based customers picked me up from my hotel last week and i drove his G40R all round the capital, small and nimble, easy to drive in London.... I was surprised how easy as the car can drive straight onto any race track.

How are owners getting on? Anyone got pics in blue?

I am getting an itch.....
Hi
As requested, here is a photo of a G40R in blue...

I drove the G40R from our factory in Leeds to Silverstone and then onto Bedford this weekend and it was an absolute dream!

I've obviously been out of the Ginetta loop for too long!
Loving the styling of the G40R.
Hope they are keeping the company coffers in good shape smile

Is there a ballpark figure on how many have been delivered? Or is that confidential?

Definitely need more pics though! The blue is stunning. What would a BRG one look like?

Not too sure how many roadcars are out there, but here's a picture of ours complete with 'warpaint'!

They do look very nice and seemingly the perfect antidote for anyone wanting Caterham style driving but without the Caterham style shape.

I really do wish they covered in the headlights, it's the one last detail that is nagging at me.

Role on April.......

Have you checked the headlights out up close and personally? I think you would be surprised how nice they look not hidden behind a piece of plastic....

My guess, seeing as they removed them for production, is that they were going to be particularly expensive to get to to fit and stay fitted without a lot of labour.

I'm sure if there was enough demand once enough units had been sold it could be re-introduced as an option etc.

But why if thats the case couldn't it be resolved?
E Types had them back in 61 .... that's 1961.

Though, as Ruth stated, and the black one above shows, the new lights are growing on me.

In the old days weren't the surrounds screwed in, by cheap labour to hand finished panels?

The modern way like TVR used requires quite accurate body moulds for starters and labour costs are much higher.

I do suspect it was a smart financial move more than anything.

When someone buys one and if they really want lenses then as someone has already made them for the prototype they can just arrange to buy a set and use their own labour.
