Of course they will but I can compensate adjusting the dampers.
I'm afraid to loose the "fat tyres" look the G4 currently has. Will see, fitting planned tomorrow.
Front section is marginally affected despite the change (175 vs 185) in nominal size has Avon declares a 185mm footprint width.

OK.

For various reasons I came to the decision not to purchase a new G4 at this juncture.

On that basis does anyone know of a 90's onwards car for sale?

PM please if you may know of one in the UK.

Thanks

Have you thought about John MCCandless's car on race car direct? Arnie at Crossle cars did a lot of work to it and says its very well sorted.

I appreciate its in Ulster and has a feisty engine, but I imagine you'd get a few K back from selling the engine if you wanted a softer one.

It's a bit of a raw racing machine.

One's a balls out track car. One isn't. I don't want to drive to the Cote D'Azur in the former.

Do I need a full cage on the road?

See pics.

Why? A road Dare G4 is carpeted, quite nicely too, and the grp is not 'bare'.

...and a bloody site more civilised than a Caterham, even in open form!

What P50 is saying is he doesn't want a stripped out modded G4

He wants along these lines

Edited to add
You beat me to it P50!!!

Of course, if you can't find your G4 P50, you could go for a G15 and save a lot of £££s.
See the blue one on PHs.

Thanks for the tip but it's the G4 that's stole my heart.

I love that sensuous 60's shape! I just hope I don't buy something else in the meantime..

I agree

It was priced at £30,995
...BUT it now says POA (price on application).

Yet scroll down to the bottom, and bingo, smile the price is still there!

I recall last looking at the car when Phil had it on their stand at Stoneleigh.

This year I noted it had been on sale on their Northampton Motorsport website at...

£27k ONO. whistle

I don't miss much!

Do you reckon it's tractable enough for the road Shadi?
240 bhp at 7,700 rpm!

I used to drive my 230 bhp G27R on the road. Was about cammy but manageable.

The yellow car seems to have been sale for ages. I'm sure it was at Race Retro in 2012 on the Northampton Motorsports stand.

So in your most humble opinion what is this G4 actually worth?

The only other G4 to gauge it with is the Irish car I suppose.

That's £22k ono and the Yellow's £31k ono

Both are not selling. I want a G4 but weren't these £18k new back then?!!

What is it worth? how long is a piece of string?

One's an out and out race car, the other is road as well.

I have only seen Phil's car in the flesh... yellow one, it is a superb car.
If it were the price I think you would like to pay, you'd have competition from me in buying it!

I think it probably is worth £30k if you compare it to some other marques up in that price bracket.
But a G4 doesn't have the same number of public in the queue to buy. Hence you can wait a while to sell.

Say you decide to part with £30+k and, say you reach a point where you need to sell (money needs, life change etc)... would you get anywhere near that figure back?
2, 3, even a 5k loss I could bear.
Not 10k!

Just my thoughts, nothing else.
I'd love that car on my drive!

You speak wise words Yoda.

At the end of the day there will come a point when one may decide to sell.

A thorough financial kicking is not something I could handle.

I suppose I value it at very low 20's

You can ask what you like for anything. The proof is in what bids you get.

hi Rene,
yes that was my 2nd Dare, sold to switzerland 2 years ago, when i bought the '63 for restoration.
i thought about keeping both, but even a die-hard ginetta fan like me couldnt justify that! Hes my G4 if you havnt seen it Mr P50, its aston sage green as used on the prototype racers

- the yellow Dare is a nice spec G4, note the uprated roll-over bar, and G4R style rear cut-outs in the arches. (wasnt it for sale recently?)
Yours I presume fella? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNehxI0SsfE

Nice driving if so, some great scraps!

OP have you received your car yet?
