Howdy folks,

I'm currently in the planning phases for doing a G4 build, I'm torn between following the original specification and completely changing it - Making a car that just looks like a Ginetta but handles very very differently.

Thus the thought came to stop lurking and start posting.

Option A: Following standard plans
Option B: Use a pre-built locost, remove body, use Ginetta shell and mount on top
Option C: Find some one that builds to specification for a low cost.

I've seen a Tiger twin engine motorbike powered rolling chassis, which perked my eyes a lot...
Also thought of Turbo Busa.

Then wasn't sure that the car would just be too heavy to make bike engines a worthwhile consideration so then started thinking what about a V8, something which will put a fair amount of weight to help stabilise the thing and give significant power (and sound smile)

Thought I'd run this by you adventerous lot of opinions and considerations.

Very much a weekend toy, "drive what you bring" racing, and something for show's that is just that bit different.

Unless you are a jockey sized person, the original G4 is impossibly small to fit into - particularly with a crash helmet and a reasonable roll-over cage.
If a V8 is what you'd like, the thing to do would be to scale the car up to say, 9/8ths and thus make room for a modern-build person and also a nice engine.

interesting idea with the locost chassis...would the G4 body fit or does it need some severe modifications ("stretching" in all directions)?

another advantage...if the locost was already road registered you do not have any IVA-hazzle after the built.
