Road cars are a whole different game to race cars- both TVR and Ginettas early ventures into road cars never generated any significant profit, yet the race car series did. A road car takes a load more time getting fit and finish correct that costs money, that would be ignored on a race car.

Huh?I take it we are talking Tomlinson's or Phaff's Ginetta?
Ginetta's 'early ventures' (ie the Walkletts) - it was the road cars that generated the cash for the race cars. Both were successful but it was the race cars which 'ate' the profits! They found the money for Type-Approval, they were even clever enough to have produced a capable F1 car for the time, in fact they even got part down the road to doing it, but then stood back and realised it was way beyond their financial capability.

The must have lost a fortune of the G60. How much did they pay for the Farbio? How many cars have been sold?
I think the hard part of road cars for Ginetta is making an interior that matches the exterior looks and has food got, finish and materials. Noble are similar IMO, lotus sort of have it ok, Porsche are way ahead. It's hard not to make them look and feel like a kit car.

It worked for the Walkletts from day one.
Since the evaporation of the road cars I hardly look at the current Ginetta site.
This was Santa Pod in the 80s. I think more Ginettas turned up than any other marque - and in a severe thunder and lightning weather episode! But I suppose you could argue different times?
