Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a mid engined 2 seater sports car and have been interested in the G32. I think the styling is an aquired taste, but as a lover of all things 80's and automotive I must admit to being something of a fan. I've previously owned 3 mk1 MR2's, the last of which was a 190bhp supercharged version, which was pretty lively.

What is the G32 like as a drivers car? How does it handle, is it a snappy little beast at the limit? Also, how much do they weigh? I'm having real difficulty finding any information on the car. Did it receive good reviews from the motoring press when first launched and also is the 1.6 any good?

Many thanks

John Mac

Try the following sites for information - there are several for sale on the first site and details on the G32 on the second.

ohms,

I've added a post to a previous topic "g32 unloved?" to bring it to the top of the forum. There was some discussion there on why G32's were so cheap. Current prices look to be about 3,000 for a minter. My turbo made 2,500 but needed some cosmetic work. If you've had a 190 bhp MR2 I think you may well regret spending your money on a 1.6 G32. They hanle pretty well, or very well with a few mods, but they're heavy cars. The chassis is enormous for the size of the car. I'd go for the 1.9 if it were me buying.

As mentioned before; the last fully type approved car built by Ginetta while still under the control of Bob Walklett.
