ah, I was already wondering what the story would be, such sort prices makes it more ' normal' for what I've seen for such old ginetta's.

Think about it...this thread is 15 years old.

What improvements have been made to the G4? What happened to Graham Bell? What is new at Dare?

Has anyone seen a Dare G4 race against a G40? Who was the victor?

Not a G4, but if you have a bit of money wink to spare and want to go racing, this could be serious option.

"The Mustard Yellow G16 on offer here is Chassis Number 16/008 and was the last chassis built, however, it was never sold and remained in the Walklett family until its purchase by our vendor in 2014."

to be honest...its a new car...even the chassis "might" be from 1968.

Anyone any information on what type of windscreen the drop head G4 has.
A very old Frogeye type one came with my 1965 car but it seems to be too wide. I know there are two types of early frogeye windscreen but wondered whether anyone has any info?

Below picture of my car ..... it needs a bit of work!

Thanks
Terry

I believe the flat screen for early g4's did indeed come from the early sprite ...the nine stud model.....I think DARE can still supply the support brackets which bolt to the wooden door hinge members.
the screen does not fit all that well ...you have to make up filler pieces.....
the nine studs are rare and expensive.....AH spares wanted £800 for one a while ago....I may have one going spare....

Thanks or the info, I see now as the one I have must be the slightly later screen.
If you do want to sell your screen , send me a pm? I can't afford AH money!

Next question ....
What speedo should be in a 1965 round tube?

Has anyone a second hand original bench seat they don't want?

The back is just plywood with vinyl-covered foam and the cushions hardboard with foam/vinyl. Couple of hours' work?

I'm just after a shabby chic look!

Did the originals have boxed and piped sides like the seven?

Can't remember now. I chucked mine away and fitted a pair of bucket seats I got from the Walkletts.
