GINETTA PHOTOS

I have a G20 in south Florida and take the car up to the Appalachian mountains once or twice per year. Great car!
Here we were getting ready to go from the cabin last week to head to the Blue Ridge Parkway...
Here we are parked on the parkway (while you normally drive on the parkway, and park on the driveway).
A few other favorites of mine.
The car is completely transformed with the new supersticky Falken Azenis RT615 205/50-15 tires!

Hey BT - Did you post pictures? I'm not seeing them.
Sounds like you and I are a rare bread here in the States. I'm up in Minnesota, and I've read reports of there being only 25 G20's in the States at all! There are probably more "vintage" Ginettas. Keep in touch, and I'd love to see pictures of yours. What's it running? The Mazda plant like mine?

Yes, my car also has the Mazda 1.8 engine. I think I might have driven your car when I was looking at buying the Ginetta. They had two at www.wirewheel.com . I bought the silver one, but got the minilite style wheels form the white one with the red stripe. Hayes subsequently sold the white one, then rebought it, and resold it again (I think to you???). The pictures I posted might only show up if you have a ferrarichat account. I don't have any other hosting service. Anyway, I got some 205/50-15 Falken Azenis RT615 tires from www.edgeracing.com and they completely change the car. It is awesome!Sounds like you and I are a rare bread here in the States. The roads in north Georgia and North Carolina are the best I have ever driven. Very well maintained, very low traffic, little to no police patrols, great views, lots of turns and elevation change, good cheap barbeque at every town... It doesn't get much better than that for me. When I go to the mountains I generally manage about 300-350 miles per day through the tight two lane roads.
It is great fun but exhausting!
Thanks.

Thanks! Yes, the roads here are VERY flat, and very congested also. The only real fun driving is about 700 miles away in the Appalachian mountains. I make the trip up about 2-3 times per year. I hope to move to North Carolina in a few years, then I can tear up the roads every weekend!
The anti roll bar is about 1.5" from the ground. The bottom of the oil pan is about 2.75" off the ground, and the seat pan is about 3.25" off the ground. I've got a few decent dents in the bottom of the seat pan (from hitting road debris), and the oil drain plug (and the cooling fins on the oil pan) have been ground flat on the bottom side. Does this sound normal? That super low center of gravity makes the car awesome in the turns.
Do you think a new Lotus Elise would be able to keep up (assuming equal drivers) with the G20? I know that the three Ferraris on the last trip (including a 360 CS) could not.

I would say that an Elise 111r would do and I would say that the Exige 111r wouldn't have a problem. Throw in a supercharger to the Elise/Exige package and it is a blinding car.
Where the Elise/Exige would suffer against the other cars that are with you in on long straights due the the other cars shear power and performance an greater top end speed.
But in the twisty roads i wouldn't think that there would be a problem at all for the Elise/Exige package

How was/is the electrical system on your car? Mine was a basket case, and I've gone completely through it. I believe I've posted photos elsewhere, but I'll try to get some before and afters up...
Cheers,
Aaron
Mine is chopped like this too. Here's what it looked like when I got it...

You should be able to scroll through all my Ginetta photos this way.
I have these photos on a Picasa Webpage and STILL can't figure out how to post them so you all can see them instantly. Help!
