Good point.
Is it me, or doesn't the 32 look even better now than it did originally?
Certainly makes the MR2 look dated now.
I dont know, would of been about 5years of age when it came out and only ever seeing mine 2-3 years ago I can't say. Guess with alot of Ginetta's they've got that timeless design. Is it me, or doesn't the 32 look even better now than it did originally?

Only bit that I hate about the G32 is the round lights when their up.

Hello Ginetta Kid
Getting a bit off topic here but your clutch problem could also be the hydraulics. Might just need bleeding or might be a leak in the master or slave cylinder. Might be worth a check before you go taking the car to bits.
thanks for that, I’ll have a look to see what’s going on and get someone else to double check to see what it isGetting a bit off topic here but your clutch problem could also be the hydraulics. I think I will strip all the lose paint off then paint it with black Hammerite rust paint then maybe waxoyl in the gaps I cant reach with the paint.
If the G32 is like the G33, the chassis was only given a quick flash over with some black paint, and no primer. Likewise if you paint Hammerite onto only bare metal its pretty useless and chips off really easily. The stuff really only sticks well onto rusty surfaces because its rough and the paint bonds well. If you use an etch primer first (these contain a slight acid) then its pretty good on smooth steel however. The TVR boys swear by POR 15, its an american products done by Frost Restorers that is more like an epoxy that goes on thick and sets rock hard. (After all TVR chassis are 10 times worse than Ginetta chassis at rotting !). As for waxoly you can also get it in black that goes on top of black paint well to make the chassis look good, but it has been described as the "devils puss" , and its pretty horrible as it never really sets and road dirt really sticks to it, plus it does need re applying on a regular basis. Mind you it cant be beaten on cost, and my 16 year old g33 chassis is still perfect having had it regularly applied. Lets get mucky !!Ginetta Kid said:

I have seen some Hammerite rust primer if that’s ok to use??, haven’t bought anything yet so will look into the etch primer because I don’t want the pant chipping of, I have seen some of the black waxoyl, so will use that in the tricky places.
Thanks
Ashley
Ive not used that rust primer myself so cant pass comment, but without a primer of some sorts its pretty useless,as it just chips off. Etch primer really sticks, as it bonds into the metal surface, so your efforts are no wasted. Alternatively Ive found my local motor paint supplier does a trade alloy wheel cleaner at about £10 a gallon, that is a thick mixture of detergent and phosporic acid. This works a treat on rusty steel, as it removes the grease and then leaves a coat of iron phospate on the metal and rust, that acts as a good priming surface once you have rinsed it off. This is much the same chemical process as used by the likes of Genolite (?) rust killer, but much more effective and a fraction of the cost. You need to wear gloves and eye protection however, its nasty stuff. Black waxyole if fine, but leaves a matt surface. Thanks
Ashley
When you get the car on the road Ashley we will have to meet up at some point as I'm over in Wem - the G31 is well documented on here and I have just been daft enough to purchase a G27 that similarly needs a bit of TLC lavishing on it. Some strange bloke thinks it will look better with a yellow bonnet for some reason ;-)
For chassis paint look up POR15 - and if the clutch gives you issues let me know if you need assistance as I would be happy to help as I've bled a few in my time.
Very nice looking example wish mine looked that tidy

Ginetta Kid,
If you join the Ginetta Owners Club you will be able to join the club forum via the web site where Dave B is a regular contributor. He sold the G32 because he was worried about the Chassis but I wouldn’t worry too much as he did the same with his G21 that I owned but on stripping the chassis to re paint it I only found a couple of small holes to weld up.
I also know a club member who has just built his own replacement G32 Chassis from Scratch so he is the chap to talk to for advice on where to look for the rust points.
Look for Mick B from Yorkshire with a Red G32 at shows next year.
Dave’s car was not the only G32 in that colour and I know another friend was selling his identical car from Yorkshire recently. His name is Wayne G and his car was even better in many respects but I cant remember his reg plate?
All the best

I have joined the club recently and have got in touch with Dave B who has been very helpful, I do worry about the chassis a bit but I have decided to fully restore it next winter or maybe after that.
I have also tried to look for a replacement chassis for the G32 but had no luck I will get in touch with this person you know, Mike B??
