Capri Pace Car
Discussion
I wasn't sure whether to start this topic here or in Gen Motorsport.
Anyway, visited a mate's body shop in South London recently and low and behold stumbled across what appears (via Google) to be a well known Capri Pace Car from the 80s.
Unfortunately it appears the owner had had not only let it fall into some disrepair, apparently a few years back he had the x-pac arches removed and RS ones put on (apologies if that's incorrect as Im not 'up' on my Capris apart from a 1.6 Laser being the first car I ever drove legally on the road )
After many years laid up the car is currently being made road legal again but I've told my mate to inform the owner it needs to be properly restored. Whether he is in a position to get a full restore done I don't know, but it's in the right place if he can

From memory I think there were three of these cars built, all had the triple webers etc. Until recently, couple of years? the 'winners parade' car at Brands was one of the three,it had the tailgate removed with hand rails fitted for carrying the victors.I believe the registration numbers to have been consecutive. Another car survives in Lincolnshire?
