I need to replace the discs and pads all round on my daily workhorse Mk1 Focus 1.6 Zetec.

There seems to be a great many different deals around at various prices, so I wondered if anyone had any particular recommendations (or ones to avoid)? There are some very cheap deals on fleabay, but I guess these might not be up to much.

Obviously it isn't a performance car, so I don't need anything too fancy (grooves/drilled/etc), but a run of the mill set of decent(ish) discs and pads, that don't cost the earth, but will stand up to daily use.

I do about 20-25k per year on a mix of motorways, A and B roads. I don't drive it too hard.

I fitted some Mintex Disc's and pads to my MK 1 a couple of months back, they work really well.

I fitted some cheap ones from Eurocarparts to the rear of mine, lasted just over a year.

Now replaced with Apec (or is it apex?) items, can't really comment on them tbh.

I've never had issues with Brembo or Mintex items either.

in my experience even the cheapest discs and pads are of satisfactory quality these days, in a world obsessed with health and safety it would be a bit odd if a company could stay in business making brake components that werent up to scratch?

Start with the dealer, you never know they could be reasonable value.
