I paid 21k for a decently specced st3 through drive the deal I picked it up 2nd march was ordered @ oct
With the deal through the broker & the finance package ford do it really was a no brainier to buy new
Whoa nice one. Think I'm going to have to take a look at that then. Sounds like the best thing to do. Thanks for the advice. With the deal through the broker & the finance package ford do it really was a no brainier to buy new
Just an update guys. I am going to buy a new mk3 now instead of a 2nd hand as it would work out cheaper for me fords finance. Plus with the deals going about i can get a st3 with style pack and door protectors cheaper than what they are advertising an st2, so a no brainer.
My only dilemma now is the facelift! Probably best to hold off for one now but would i still get the same deal??

How close was the deal to the advertised (business) price? The ST1 is listed at £16.5k but its for business sales only. Curious how close DTD would get to this for a private buyer. With the deal through the broker & the finance package ford do it really was a no brainier to buy new

I paid £700 over what the business price was so that would equal £17200 which IMHO is a bargin!!marcella said:

I was warned off the door protectors as apparently there have been some issues with them sticking which is not good when you slam the door!!!My only dilemma now is the facelift! Probably best to hold off for one now but would i still get the same deal??
That's 8 months we've had ours and it has been fantastic.
I highly recommend driving in 'sport' mode. I've no idea where Ford get their MPG but we're certainly not getting it! 25mpg seems to be the norm.
With iso-fix setup on one of the back seats, there is still loads of room in the back. The boot also manages to swallow the travel system easily, with some room left for shopping.

Really?! That's an issue, I wasn't expecting diesel like mpg but I'd've hoped for 30-35ish. What kind of driving do you do? What are others' experiences?
According to the on board computer mine is doing 29mpg currently with a mix of driving & to be fair it's only done 800 miles so farrix said:

Don't get me wrong, I know you don't buy a hot hatch or 'sport' model if you're looking for 40mpg. But I do think Ford are way off the mark with their quoted figures.
