A couple of weeks back i decided to test drive the new Fiesta ST. I had heard lots of positive reviews and wanted to find out for myself what all the fuss was about. Unsurprisingly I was impressed and after lots of negotiating we agreed on a price. Should be in the dealers at the start of March ready for the new registration. biggrin

Spec is as follows...ST2 in Spirit Blue with the Style Pack, Nav, Cruise Control and Spare Wheel.

I am going from a Civic Type R (EP3) so looking forward to trying something new and seeing how they compare on road and track.

No major plans for it so far other than the MP215 upgrade from Mountune, larger Intercooler, Track Wheels + Tyres and maybe some upgraded brakes.

Any other owners on here?

Enjoy smile
They look brilliant and the spec and performance figures sound great too.

You are aware that an ST3 is being launched on 4 March?

This is £1k more than the ST2 but inc cruise control, EATC, Sony Nav. Keyless entry, Auto lights and wipers, auto dimming and folding wing mirrors.

All that for a couple of hundred more??

BTW, can I ask what discount you got of the £17995?

Two good things - its a great car and there is a £250 price rise on 4 March as well so you have saved that!

Hey David, yes I am aware of the ST3 but it wasn't available when I agreed on the deal. I had heard rumours but to be honest there is nothing extra that cant be specced up on an ST2 anyway. Also with the price increase and delay it would have taken to arrive it just didn't make sense to me.

I have purchased the car on ford options but even taking into account the extra costs associated with financing and the £1k+ in options it still came to not much more than a standard ST1.

I don't mind the 3 month wait if I order - gives me a chance to use the new tyres I have put on my Megane R26!!

My deal works out at 10.5% off RRP to which the £500 deposit contribution will be added, so ST2 price for ST3 with metallic and Mounttune pack.

One thing - you can spec all the extra bits on the ST2 that are std on the ST3, but they will list at £1300 against the £1k price uplift AND more importantly won't carry any residual value so the ST3 was more sensible choice from the financial point of view.

Are you tuning yours?

Not too much but plan on getting the Mountune upgrade and larger intercooler fitted. Will also look at upgrading the brakes depending on how they hold up.

How about yourself?

Great choice, I'm looking at getting one at the end of the year. We already have a Mk7 ZS and it's chassis is a delight, just needs more poke!

I havent pressed the trigger yet as I ant the toys on the ST3 which cannot be ordered yet.

I am having the Mountune fitted and may well upgrade IC and brakes in time.

Anyone planning to take theirs on a trackday anytime soon?

Colin

I am stuck on whether to stick with Race Res or go for the Spirit Blue - can I ask you e-mail me a few photos from various angles and distances when you collect yours?

Thanks in advance - I will PM you my e-mail address.

Just been told mt ST2 is arriving on Monday at the dealers so I am picking it up on Wednesday :-) Can't wait ...

No Mountune though as the kit hasn't arrived - I would rather have the car without it and take it back to be fitted than wait another week or two !

You're gonna love it! My Fiesta ST is so much fun to drive, I enjoy everyday in it.

I'm driving around in it for a while before getting the kit fitted to it though. That's something to look forward to later on.

Picked mine up yesterday. Really enjoying it although I'm taking it easy for the for the first few hundred miles to let it run in. Hopefully it will be nice at the weekend to take it out for a proper drive and get some pics.

I am off to get mine in an hour or so ... and will be good with it for 250 miles or so. No thrashing until it's got some mileage on it but I will rev it as letting it sit merely at low revs all the time does nothing for it. I think they say don't cane it or do anything until warm. My experience of new cars is that being too gentle is almost worse than giving it some !!

I got it ... and have now done 350 miles - Mountune arrived today at dealers but they can't do it until Monday. Soooo frustrating lol I now know what it feels like as std so can't wait until I have another bit of power to play with. It feels so good for only 300 miles I bet 7 or 8K will be superb smile
