The discounts I get meant it only cost about £800 from part ex'ing my 16,000 miles 1 year old st2 to getting a new st3

Took my Mountune'd ST down to Torquay this week and along the South Coast.

Fantastic car on the B roads, and I was impressed with the economy on the way down there (sat at 70mph)

Excuse the dirty car:

Took mine to Santa Pod last Sunday, last 1/4 mile of the year, it was packed and we didn't get many runs in, had to wait two hours after the 1st one!

With a poor launch we still managed a 14.7 @ 96 mph, spec was Bluefin stage 2, GGR induction and Airtec intercooler, tried sports mode to keep the wheelspin down but it was detecting slip in 3rd and cutting the power back so best time was ESC off. With more practice and a better launch it should be able to run a 14.4 in current spec.

Excuse the double post also. biggrin
Yep the 182PS engine can be very economical, i always thought so when i had it in my Focus.
50+ mpg on longer open road journeys was fairly easily achievable. smile

I need to clean my ST also.

Is this the unofficial ST owners thread then? smile

Heated seats are like perching on the rail of a roaring Aga. That and the heated windscreen bodes well for colder winter months. Standard Bridgestones seem a bit nervous with standing water though? -Perhaps that's just a symptom of sharper steering and a lighter car than I'm used to.

The heated seats are excellent , they start heating in less than 10 seconds. I am seriously considering junking the Bridgestone as they don't grip at all in damp/wet conditions since it's been tweaked.

As this has turned into the appreciation thread I'm really loving mine so far, goes well, getting almost 40mpg already and as it's an ST3 it has enough toys to keep me amused

at home with my Wifes Titanium ecoboost

didnt really want the His n hers white look but we already had hers and my Fav St colour is white so had to do it rolleyes

considering getting it Mountuned at the mo as far as I can see no drawbacks ?

There are more effective maps out there than Mountune, its just the whole warranty thing, at your risk etc. But I've only been made aware of one engine failure, and that was a Mountuned MP215. Everyone else seems to get better results for less money.

Wondering whether to spend £85 on a Disklok, there's rumours that the scumbags know how to get them off ?

Most are going to find it easier to carry around the kit to bypass the system via obd than a crowbar and a pair of bolt cutters. Everything is a deterrent at the end of the day and the disklok is hard work to remove regardless.

But some people reckon it comes off easily if you know how..

I wondered the same. Out and about the disklok is probably a good idea.

On the driveway I'd rather them take it instead of coming in looking for the keys. So would I bother putting the disklok on with the car at home?

On the drive is where I'd use it, if they came in looking for keys they'd better like GSD's.

I've not heard of anyone getting one of these off easily ... where did you read or hear that ?

Anyone notice a slight 'hiss' when going over speed humps? Sounds like it's coming from the suspension.

Cheers.

I'd always heard it, but I'm booking the first service soon and wasn't sure whether to mention it.

You trading in? Or Ford Options?

Ours is great, although I don't get to drive it much, my wife tends to have it as daily driver.

Couple of points:

(1) Needed to go in because the battery seemed knackered. -Give it a full charge and a week later it'd let us down again. Took it to dealer who apparently fixed it with a software update on the radio. No problems since.

(2) Half of the lit-logo sill has stopped working. Not a major issue but I'll mention it at the upcoming service.

(3) It's still great. It really is... but... -why do I not drive it as much as I could? The fact we're a bit over the agreed lease mileage is a factor, and that the wife always takes it so it's less likely to be on the drive, but... I dunno, the old 320cd has less kit and is much slower but I seem to choose it more often, particularly for longer drives. It's just a bit more solid, comfortable, less "jiggly" and raucous. Perhaps the bigger issue is that I drive the ST too fast. I think "I've paid for that power and chassis, therefore I must use it. All the time." Whereas in the BMW I waft around at a more measured pace. I'm a much better driver in that to be honest. Probably just getting old.
