Cheers.
I'd always heard it, but I'm booking the first service soon and wasn't sure whether to mention it.
You trading in? Or Ford Options?
No new company demo, I work for a Ford dealer. My current one is a ST-3 with Style Pack, Rear Sensors and Spare Wheel in White, new one is exactly the same but in red, going to get it tomorrow now as mine still had fuel in today.I'd always heard it, but I'm booking the first service soon and wasn't sure whether to mention it.

Nice. I see on the other thread with regards to the RS etc that you worked for a dealer.
I'm thinking that I should have purchased instead of leased as I love te car, but the thinking was that it would stop me keeping a car too long. I end up thinking the current car is going welll, or I've spent money on it so keep it.

How does the Monotune pack work? Do I purchase it independently then take it to an approved dealer or does it get delivered to the dealer? Based in S.wales and thinking of taking it to Pentrebach Ford in Merthyr. Any feedback be appreciated
Easiest way is to just buy it through your nearest Mountune Dealer as a supply and fit - http://www.mountunestore.com/apps/store-locatorhjcrichard said:

Really enjoying reading how positive people are about the Mk7 ST. I have had mine since December last year and now done approx. 12k miles in it.
It's my commuting, family and everyday car but it also brings an element of fun to the table. For me, it replaced a Clio 200 Turbo which I also liked but, just as the reviews say, the Fiesta is better than, or at least as good as, the "standard" 200 Turbo in every conceivable area.
For anyone looking to buy used, don't forget that you can get highly specced ST2s which often have the same (or at least similar) equipment to the ST3s. My ST2 has sat nav, auto climate control, keyless entry etc etc and I got a much better price on my ST2 than I could have done on an ST3 at the time so certainly worthwhile considering.
Also, another potentially useful tip for any owners or would-be owners, is in relation to the tyres. My front tyres (factory fit Bridgestones) lasted almost exactly 12,500 miles before needing to be changed and I thought they were pretty good. However, when I came to change them for the same tyres I couldn't find anyone with any in stock so I changed them for Continental Sport Contact 5 tyres based on EVO's tyre review and they are absolutely fantastic, particularly in the wet where the grip is like night and day compared to the old Bridgestones. Obviously, I appreciate some will not want the extra grip provided by the Continentals but I prefer them and would definitely recommend.

Nice write up there. If mine need replacing before it goes back I'll have a look. I just picked mine up from it's first service. Just under 7mm tread on the front and just under 6mm on the rear now (Had them rotated on the service). Just over 5000 miles on them. Do the come with 8mm from new?
Also they've put the tyres up to 38psi front and 30psi rear, when I run them at 36psi front and 26psi rear. At least they're consistent, but does anyone else run their tyres at this pressure? I'm just wondering if it's actually better. Or have they made a 'consistent' balls up with the pressures?

When I got the MP215 kit done on mine it was just a case of ringing the dealer & booking it in. Some of them, I believe, carry the kits in stock, others order on demand from Mountune, but they appear to get delivered fairly quickly.
Dealer does the fitment & you usually get a box away with you containing the OEM air filter & filter housing, plus an envelope with the activation certificate & warranty etc.
It's about an hour's work to do, I just wandered off for a sandwich & walk round the shops while mine was done.
On the tyres thing, orthodoxy on the Fiesta STOC is that the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is a good option. I've got them all round & have been very pleased. Definitely prefer them to the OEM Bridgestone.

I should hopefully have the MP215, Mountune cat back exhaust and their high flow induction hose fitted before the end of the month (by Barnsley Ford). I'll try to remember to come back and give you some feedback on the upgrades once they're all done. Hopefully it'll all be as good as the claims say it is!

Yes it makes a marked difference. The car is easier to drive in so much as it pulls better at lower revs in all gears excluding first, not as noticeable in 2nd but very much present in third upwards. Makes the turbo dump very, very slightly more present with the windows open. Driving on a good twisty A and B road is where the improvement really comes into it's own, the extra torque being most present. It's giant killer really, the chassis can handle much more. To the point actually that I'm having the MR230 installed next Wednesday. The MP215 is a no-brainer. Just get it fitted, it makes the car much much better than stock, why Ford didn't design it like that in the first instance is beyond me. You won't regret it.

My PERON Stage 3 Fiesta ST which gives 285bhp/290lb ft for less than MR230 money. Track and road proven too, I've done countless hours of flat out driving around Snetterton and its never been anything less than impressive. We have done 11,000 miles of road testing on PERON calibrations too.

All that for less than £2,5k? I'm still considering Peron as an upgrade for mine.
Yes its £2495 plus fitting. Very well engineered hardware made in the UK and a lot of real world development to ensure end user enjoyment, not just boasting big numbers to sell kits Fidgits said:
As mine is still less than a year old, keeping the manufacturers warranty is a big plus for the mountune kit
Maybe, but only for MP215 not MR230. Next year Peron will be releasing a warranty friendly stage 1 which will give 270lb ft instead of the 240lb ft of Mountune and typical peak bhp around 220bhp for 2/3rds of the cost.Gassing Station | Ford | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
