Weird 'device pairing' message - Mondeo
Discussion
2012 Mondeo Titanium X, with the DAB radio, and the strange woman who talks when you push the button on the end of the indicator stalk...
...she's annoying enough as it is, but today was plain weird. I was waiting to turn left at a junction this morning, when, apropos of nothing, the daft Doris in the dashboard interrupts the radio with the message "please enter the 4 digit pin displayed on the radio screen into the device to which you wish to connect" or words to that effect. "WTF?" thinks I? I haven't asked the car to pair with anything, I don't even have my mobile phone with me
Was the car trying to pair/connect with a phone in another car, or belonging to a passing pedestrian? I'm not overly concerned, as after stabbing at a few buttons randomly, the message disappeared and Kerrang! came back, but it disturbed my equilibrium for a moment of two. What's going on? Has anyone else experienced this? This is the first time in 18 months or so of ownership that anything daft like this has happened, although the 'Doris in the Dash' cannot always be relied upon to carry out the instructions I give her (much like the wife, in many respects ).
