Where do we see the price of these going for an exceptionally nice example, low miles etc etc?

Based on the ones I've seen being advertised / sold via the RS Owners Club, the low mileage examples (including those that have had underside resto / tidy up work done) have gone up in price in recent years and will likely continue to do so as more get modified and neglected by the younger owners who can afford to buy one but not necessarily maintain it.

The much higher mileage examples, badly modified ones, neglected ones (bodywork with rust, badly maintained engines, etc) and ones on the register have gone down / settled in price. That however doesn't stop some owners from pricing them optimistically in the higher end of the market hoping to get lucky, but these are the ones that tend to hang around, never sell and after a while get broken for spares / returned to standard to sell on.

Worth noting that the last 2 ultra low mileage (sub 10k) concours examples both sold on the RSOC within a matter of hours for £14-16k respectively, purely by word of mouth and before even being advertised to the wider world, such was the demand for both cars.

Thanks Alex

I guess with all collectable cars it's difficult to know when to hold and when to fold.

I have a low mileage car and it's just being carefully stored, always loved the look of the clean purposeful lines but not any real interest in driving it as it's pristine.....shame really.

Wondered whether it's worth hanging onto and having to keep it MOT'd serviced etc.

I thought they would start going up, which they have.

But saying that some "nice" examples have come up in the last couple months that look a potential steal. Obviously this isn't seeing them in person i can't say if they were as good as they were in photos.

If i wasn't so keep on getting something a bit newer i'd have one, but for a daily runner i couldn't/

I bought mine late 2013, it had FSH registered RSOC car, 36k on the clock, immaculate with no rust, never drove on a wet road etc etc and it cost me £10,600

I just tried to by the top of my budget, there are buying guides on the RSOC, if you find one your thinking about you can always post a thread on there and 9 times out of 10 people will be able to tell you part if not all of he cars history smile

I got mine cheap (for the time) in 2006 i paid 14k when most were @16-17k it had just over 30k on it, I was offered 8k for it a few months back which was a good offer in my eyes now it has 105k on it smile

Prices are starting to rise from what i've seen as the cheaper cat 'd' or 'c' & ones that are just a bit rough are now being stripped as they are worth more as parts & there are people making good money out of doing this.

A stock low miles car is becoming a very good investment.

All this doesn't really matter to me now as i am firmly committed to never selling mine laugh
