I need some help with my Girlfriends 2003 Ford KA. For a while the front suspension creaks over bumps under load. In a straighline it tends to be ok, but its more noticable on the left hand side when turning right.

I have so far changed the lower wishbones and Anti-Roll Ball bushes but no change. It recently went through its MOT and no mention of worn rubbers, or play in the suspension. The noise is quite bad turning right slowly with the steering wheel on full lock.

I had a good look under the car yesterday and it is quite corroded underneath, with the MOT mentioning it. Just wondering what else i can do. Obviously the MOT states the car is safe to drive, but my GF is worried about the noises especially the louder noise when on full lock??

Could any other rubbers be perished? Anything to change?

Quite likely to be the anti roll bar vertical links.

Thanks. They see a cheap part so worth changing. When I looked at these previously the ones on the car looked pretty corroded.

Anything else worth looking at?

So far I have now changed the following:
Lower Control Arms
Anti-Roll Bar bushes
Droplinks
Track rod ends

Car still creaks on the left hand side over uneven surfaces. And when the car is turning right on full lock it seems the drivers side is rubbing/grinding on something.

Anything else I can check? Steering rack?

You could check the rubber mounts on the top of the struts as they could be drying out. There will be a lot of free movement up and down at the top end if you jack the car up and let the suspension hang, this is normal on a KA and not an MOT fail. Check the coil springs aren't broken and also if you think a tyre is rubbing it'll be visible on the inner arch plastic.

We had the top mounts replaced about 2 years ago as they failed the MOT. Only thing I can think of is that i replaced the lower control arms myself and ever since the rubbing/grinding thing has happened? My local garage checked it all over and couldn't see anything but i wonder if thats the problem?

Just having another look on google and could the noise be from a failing CV Joint?
