Hi,

I'm strongly considering buying a new fiesta st and I've pretty much decided the ST-3 with spare wheel and style kit in either red or white (really don't know which!) is the way to go. My query is whether its worth getting rear parking sensors? and also can the rear headrests be added after purchase should I decide I want them or do they not put the holes in the rear seats for them when the spec is optioned without them?

Any advice would be great, especially regarding ownership of the car and what its like to drive longer distance as this is not something I have had the opportunity to find out on 20-30 min test drives

I didn't get an answer from the dealer about the headrest question but i just thought i'd mention that the option for rear head rests is just for the centre one anyway as it comes with the other two as standard.

I ended up ordering an ST-3 in red, it comes in mid november! excited

I didn't spec parking sensors on mine. The car doesn't really need them IMO. They're a nice to have, but when looking out the back window it's easy to judge the distance.

I can only base my opinion longer term on owning a Zetec-S Mk7 and a short 30 minute drive of the ST back to back, the ride is firmer, bit more crashy but on motorway speeds this didn't seem to be an issue, our Zetec-S is a superb long distance car, only the lack of cruise control lets it down. The 6th gear of the ST meants less revs and more relaxed too.

Yes the centre headrest is an option but i wouldn't bother with it, the other two when raised to block the rear view significantly. Parking sensors, it is a small car and I have no issues reversing it, that really is entirely up to you!
