Coming close to sitting my test and being a car lover I'm already looking at cars within reason. I want to have something different but not ridiculous. My budget is about £3000-3500 which is reasonable for a first car. I've managed to find a fair amount o cracking looking Ford Fiesta Zetec S', the 2005ish model. I love the way it looks and is fairly cheap to insurance being in group 7, which surprised me with it being a 1.6. Just wanting to know what people think if its reliable e.t.c

Thanks

If that's genuine with you as a 17/18 year old (guessing) and not fronting under Mum, or Dad, that's a great price. Pretty good first car to be fair.

Try to find one that hasn't been modified and it'll serve you well.

Front springs prone to snapping but I have an 07 ST and am into my second year of ownership, without too many issues.
Watch the tyres as young lads buy on the cheap and the rear is wont to snap out on cheap tyres and wheels get kerbed.
They seem to have a fault where air always blows to your feet, allegedly cured but not on mine.
The MAF can soot up and cause idle/rev issues.
Usual squeaks and groans but one of the most stylish hatches IMHO.
