I have been looking at the Fiesta 125 Ecoboost titanium x

I have viewed 4 different cars all under 10k miles 2013/2014 plates and every single one of them has had really unacceptable paint damage for the age. There have been paint chips right down to the black plastic on bumpers and down to metal on body panels the size of a thumb nail and when touching more paint 'flaking off'

I really cannot think of anything worse than forking out 11-12k on a year old car which is going to have its paint flake off so easily causing un-needed depreciation.

Does anyone have any similar experiences? Two of the vehicles were from Arnold Clark, one a ford dealer and the other a small independent.

Generally overall looking at the panels of these cars the paint gives the appearance of being 'thin' its hard to explain but my Polo paintwork gives an appearance of thickness and depth.

Sounds like classic ford paint. My mk6 was the same, up close there were lots of little black chips etc.

Admittedly the large mark was from hitting a piece of wood on the M6 but you can see the state of the rest of the paint work

Also, the new fiestas also have a very pointy nose which which is terrible for chips etc. (Have also seen some mk3 focus with quite alot of chips)

Ex hire cars maybe. I am biased as I vowed years ago not to buy from that particular organisation ever again.

I have had four Fiestas and not had any issues bar the odd stone chip but don't tailgate.
