Here's the email
" Dear Mr XXXXXX
Many thanks for your email to Andy Barratt.
I am pleased to advise you that SYNC3 will be introduced to the Focus and C-MAX ranges, including the Focus RS. SYNC3 is planned to enter production on these vehicle lines towards the end of September this year. This is part of a phased rollout of our newest communications and entertainment system, which began with S-MAX, Mondeo and Galaxy in May.
I hope this answers your query.
Kind regards"
So it's not clear as far as I can see

I bought mine for £28,940 base OTR price in the first wave. (Deposit down last June, ordered in September)
If you want a Sync3 car you'll be paying at least £31,000 which is the base OTR price now. (Possibly more soon)
I wouldn't be surprised if they put the price up for when Sync3 arrives too.

It looks like I got lucky as I will be getting a Sync 3 for £29k , I put the order in on March 3rd 2016 (the price went up about 10 days later), final spec to be confirmed in November / December for delivery in March 2017
It looks like I ordered at exactly the right time in terms of price / spec

Although I'd recheck your invoice figures...
28940 > up to 6th December 2015
29995 > 7th December - 31st March 2016
30000 > 1st April - 31st April 2016
31000 > 1st May - Present

Alarmingly, on checking I have agreed £465.00 for the SYNC 2, surely they have to stick to that price i.e. not charge me more for SYNC 3?

£29,620 is the price - £29,995 is the on the road price - from the blurb:Alarmingly, on checking I have agreed £465.00 for the SYNC 2, surely they have to stick to that price i.e. not charge me more for SYNC 3?
"'On the road' price includes one years road fund licence, DVLA first registration fee and an estimated £25 for number plates. Road fund licence charge is derived using Ford Test CO2 performance data."
If your car is getting manufactured after September 2016 then I doubt they can charge you more. It'll be a free upgrade.
Unless they force you to re-contract then you'll have to wait even longer.

I'll stand my ground over that. As I technically wanted Sync 2 I can't see how they can possibly charge me more
Any rumours / news on the 500?
Ford have been testing a "modified" RS at the Nurburgring, but whether that'll make it into production as a special edition is anybodys guess. They'll have to decide soon though as Focus Mk4 production is due to start in September 2017.
Might just be a test mule for the Mk4 Focus ST / RS for all we know.

Does anyone have anything official from Ford regarding this sync3 stuff?
I have spomen to the salesman I ordered with andhe has tried to do some digging but Ford are telling him the new system will be in 2017 Mustangs first.
Also you lot did well at 29k, mine was 34k albeit with all the options ticked.

Mountune upgrade announced.

Today, mountune and Ford Performance announce their official power-boosting engine power upgrade kit for the mk3 Focus RS.
Ford Focus RS customers in the EU can now further enhance the award-winning performance of the acclaimed high-performance hatchback with the official Ford Performance by mountune power upgrade package.
The FPM kit includes a high-flow induction kit, uprated re-circulating valve, performance calibration and FPM badge, with a retail price of £899 inc. VAT.
Co-developed by mountune and Ford Performance, the approved upgrade boosts peak power from the specially engineered Ford 2.3‑litre EcoBoost engine by 25 PS to 375 PS and peak torque by 40 Nm to 510 Nm using overboost. The Ford Focus RS achieves improved 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration in 4.5 seconds with the top speed remaining at 165mph (266 km/h).
“Ford has a proud history of working with Mountune to unleash even more power from our hot hatchbacks for dedicated performance enthusiasts,” said Tyrone Johnson, vehicle engineering manager, Ford Performance. “Boosting power to 375 PS launches the already class-leading Focus RS even further ahead of the field.”
Any Mountune-appointed Ford dealer will be able to fit the upgrade in 1.5 hours and it is fully compatible with the Ford warranty, meaning Ford Performance by Mountune Focus RS vehicles will continue to be covered against mechanical failure.
