Be nice if one of you 'orrible lot that already have their cars (I am not jealous - much) put up a Readers Cars thread giving ownership experiences, problems, MPG, niggles, how hard a cricket bat needs to connect with your face to wipe your grin off after driving it etc.

Especially for us lowly Focus ST owners! smile

God, I wish I could afford an RS.
And watch it descend into the slanging match that it usually does on here? CBA.

I've been pointed towards a Focus RS from my mate as I'm moving back up north and won't need a SUV anymore.

We went to the dealer near where we work tonight. They didn't have one in to look at (but we did get to crawl over a Mustang V8 convertible :-) ) but the sales guy we spoke to said that there is a 12 month waiting list for the Focus RS now.

Does anyone have any info that can confirm that or otherwise? I'm not hugely bothered if it is true, as I think it's worth waiting for, but do need to know before I commit in my head.

Thanks.
I picked up a cancelled order a week after first test driving.

Further to my recent post, I managed to get a (short) test drive yesterday.

Absolutely awesome car, really impressed with it. Dealer confirmed long waiting list which tbh is OK as it gives me time to sort out the position on the existing fleet. Just got to decide on the colour now, frozen white is currently my favourite.

Another question, the one I test drove had the shell seats. How different from the standard seats are these in terms of feel? The dealer suggested that the standard ones were similar to those in an ST, which I tried and quite liked.

Good choice!

I bought off spec based against media reports and how well my standard Focus handles and runs. Mine is in white due to the fact I believe the Rs brand has historically been white.

I also had concerns about the seat position as typically I get into a car and drop it down as low as possible. Having test driven an Rs for a fairly decent time it honesly didn't worry me. From a cursory glance they are similar to a set of aftermarket seat mounts so I am sure it wont be long before someone offers a lowered version. The shell seats were very comfy though. (186 days before mine arrives smile )

Been in my shell seats now for 2800 miles now and they're lovely. I tried the standard ones - same as ST seats - and found them uncomfortable in the lumber area. Just depends on your shape I guess as to which style seats suits the best.

I'd definitely try both seats. I found the lumber much better on the standard than the CS. Everyone's different

Took the OH to get a 2nd opinion on the seats, she'll seats were vetoed!

So that's one decision on the spec sorted!

One thing that is nagging me - I keep reading on here about Golf R's and Audi S3's being stolen by people having their front door kicked in. Am I being paranoid to worry about the same thing happening to me with the RS?

Ordered mine on Sunday with a presumed 12 month wait. Went for standard seats as they were really comfy. Shell seats looked great but are too high and not compatible with my back and 15k a year.

I'm not sure how that stops them kicking in your doors as they will have the keys?
