I was speaking to a RS MK2 owner recently that had previouly owned an Evo 6, his opinion was the RS wouldn't get near the Evo in the wet.

Owned one for a year. Great sounds and theatre with wonderful road presence. Handling not bad but ride is pretty hard - too hard for a daily imo. Not very fast as standard but remap makes a big difference. Mk3 should be on a different level in terms of road holding (or it better be). Flared arches are all very well on the mk2 but the standard stance simply doesn't fill them - you need to lower the car and fit spacers to get the correct look which then compromises the handling further and adds torque steer, at least the mk3 won't have those cosmetic issues...

Flawed , fast , a little delicate , mad looks , depreciation minimal , great road presence , 30 odd MPG not bad
I am sure the new one is better so it should be, more fun I doubt it..lets see

I had mine just over two years , , it was running 420 bhp , awesome car to own, smooth power , bags of grip and a great place to be sat .
Never a trip without the odd giggle and big smile on the noise and the looks it got , sad day when I sold it , but the house came first .
The new one will good , and very tuneable seeing 500 bhp easy .i await to see one in the flesh .

I was thinking about this thread the other day last time I drove mine.

Being an old git, the thing I like about mine is that it is an enjoyable car to cruise about in too.

I think it's cured any desire on my part to own a peaky NA engined car, as I like the idea of a nominal hot hatch that's also effortless to drive when you're not in the mood for going fast.

I doubt many owners of a Mk.2 RS would see that figure very often.
I'm certainly not saying its not possible.....but I know how gentle you need to drive a modern ST to get that. wink
