My Mum's Ka heater is on permanent meltdown at the moment, selecting the air-con on makes zero difference.

After a quick google the likely culprit appears to be the heater control valve located under the scuttle.

Has anyone here changed this and how difficult / easy is it?

Cheers in advance.

Mine did that when I had my 2001 Fiesta - constant hot - in summer...

I found a replacement from a breakers, took me all of 5 min to do. Just make sure engine is cold, I would not bother blocking off pipes, just disconnect the old one and plug in the new one, no need to bleed the system, all worked fine for me!

Just a quick update, took me about an hour to complete and it's now perfect again.

Part cost around £15.00, and I topped up the coolant for a fiver.

Happy days.

I wasn`t rushing, a cup of tea or two, decided to give it a good clean once the scuttle was off and that was that.

The wipers weren`t easy to remove though.....
