Fiesta ST or Red/Black Zetec S

Hello everyone...
Am looking at the above 2 cars to replace a town runabout. Will test drive next week to decide between the two. Any preferences from those that have driven both?
Have been offered ford pcp deals for both. With discounts plus old car as trade in, no additional cash have been offered:
1) ST2, spirit blue - £304 pcm, 36mths,GFV £7.2k
2) Zetec S red - £257 pcm, 36, GFV £6.6
APR 4.3% on both
Has anyone achieved better?
Any advice appreciated.

If you PM me with all the numbers you've been given I'll take a look at the deal, if I'm cheaper you might like to buy it from me! I love doing deals for PHers! I may take you up on that. At the moment I have secured some quotes through the carwow website that are sinificantly cheaper than my dealer. I will keep you posted.Thanks for feedback received so far.
Hi, have had two Fiesta ST's, an ST2 and a ST3 on PCP. Great cars, well spec'd, great fun to drive and a good turn of speed. Excellent bang for your buck. Was paying £315 a month on PCP with £100 deposit for the ST3( Which I later discovered could be beaten).
Having had 4 Fiestas in recent years I am just about to get a Zetec S on a lease organised back in May when I sold my ST3. However first vehicle leasing are currently doing a Zetec S for £935 down then 23 months at £155.98 that's maintained and 5k miles. Thats what I am paying for my non maintained car but the excess mileage is only 6p.
Going for a lease as its a good value second car and to stop me changing cars ever 9 months and losing loads on PCP.
Depending on your trade in those prices look a bit high. Maybe I am out of date.
When you get it make sure it doesn't leak, wet boots and front foot wells. 3 out of my four cars have leaked and have been fixed under warranty after several visits to the dealer.

I've had two STs and would thoroughly recommend one to anyone.
You mention your old car is trade in, I'm assuming that is acting as your deposit? You can definitely get an ST2 for cheaper than your quoted price, if you would like to send me the figures I'll happily have a look at what's available (not a salesman but have close links to Ford).

I went through the same decision.. if I did fewer miles, I would get an ST tomorrow. However, I've now done 15k miles in the Red Edition, and it's brilliant. Great chassis, suspension set up, and one litre turbo engine. I would recommend if you can't have the ST.
Agree with this. Maybe I'm getting old but the st(mountune pack) was hard to live with, even on a 30 min test drive. The damping was non existent - it was jumping all over the place on a relatively smooth B road. In every other way it was subjectively better than the Zetec s, which was still a great car.

I suspect that the Focus RS won't need to be discounted.
With regards to the ST/Zetec S. I'd say ST. You only live once and I can't imagine the fuel economy is going to be that much of an issue if you're not doing that many miles. If you're really just driving around the city it may not be worth it, but I bet you'll find an excuse to go for longer drives.
