Hey,

2006 Focus ST was broken into and now wont start. The bonnet key lock has been damaged and missing. I presume the car is immobilised in some way.

It turns over but wont start. The immobiliser indicator is not flashing, staus on for three seconds then turns off as it should.
Battery is good but as stated it was running fine until it was broken into. Is there a sensor in the bonnet lock that is maybe preventing it from starting at all?

Any suggestions gratefully received

thanks

There is an alarm switch in the bonnet release, which when activated will sound the alarm if car alarm is set. The car stays immobilised until you unlock, get in and key in the ignition. You might need to open the bonnet and disconnect the battery and allow 30 mins and reconnect. Lock the doors, unlock the doors and then try to start it.

The bonnet lock is no longer there... as in MIA, just a cable. Would that affect it??

Thanks

There is a connector that plugs into the lock, I believe. You could just link it out.

The connector actually plugs into the latch which is bolted onto the car, as long as that's there you should be fine. Does it turn over at all or is it completely dead? Any clicks?

Car turns over but won't start. I would have said fuel pump or line if it wasn't for this. Only started since this happened

Wot he said - Switch is somewhere near the passenger footwell IIRC.

When you turn the ignition on, can you hear the fuel pump pressurising the system?
