Just wondering iff its possible to set piston at top dead centre on a v6 duratec engine then pressurise bore to hold wave while doing valve stem seal without having to remove head know it can be done on some cars ?

Simple, already done in my Noble:
Piston on top down position
Remove spark plug
Insert the 99% of a looong soft wire
Rotate crank to have piston in top position and valve closed (combustion)
When rotation is hard wire is pressed and you can remove valve retainers, spring, seal.
