Audi A3 DSG 6 speed gearbox
Discussion
Went into limp mode so had mechatronic ecu checked, no fault found, changed gearbox including mechatronic box and now it works fine, apart from Manual side of gearbox and the paddle controls no longer work, both gearboxes are HLE so dont know what to do to get the paddles/manual working again, anyone got any ideas?
Problem with the paddle switch? I would have thought when it went into limp mode it would have given an error code to almost pin point what the problem is. If the transmission is shifting automatically, it would indicate that it is mechanically sound and you have en electrical problem. Probably check things like connectors, plugs etc. It might be something daft and seemingly unconnected like a duff alternator

When you say not working, what actually happens when you shove the lever across to the left? Does the dash display the gear or a D?
The paddles might just need coding, I'm not sure if the coding to say it has paddles is in the mech unit or somewhere else.
Ok, hmm, when i select the manual gearshift, it shows the gaears going up and down but it doesnt actually change but if I use the paddles it doesnt show it going up or down. Coding sounds interesting, how though?!The paddles might just need coding, I'm not sure if the coding to say it has paddles is in the mech unit or somewhere else.

It does not go into limp mode now, since i changed the gearbox but it wont allow the paddles to change gear and when I use the manual gearbox lever selector, it shows the gears going up and down but it doesnt actually do it!!Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
