Are the Fiesta Ecoboost engines reliable?

I want to by the Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost (99) Zetec 2013'

However, I have heard from a few people that although it is an excellent engine.. they are not very reliable.

Whatever the problem is.. has 'Ford' addressed it with the 2014, 15, 16 updates?

The coolant pipe issue was only on the Focus, it wasn't an issue in the Fiesta.

I'm not aware of any major issues with the 1.0 engine.

I read something somewhere about the clutch being a bit inadequate but you'll have to research that.

We have had ours for a year and a half now (2014 model) have had no issues whats so ever, I love the little thing. The engine is a cracking unit.

Just hitting 15k & 1 yr old: varies between motorway pounding & shopping trolley/school run. First service done, & nothing to report, all going fine.

I was loaned a newish one for a day while my Focus was being serviced. OK for a shopping trolley but wouldn't want to do a long journey in one. Perhaps I've spent too many years driving four-pots but I felt the engine was willing but rough.

I find quite the opposite. Our Fiesta feels low revving and torquey, not unlike a diesel. It's far better on the motorway than you would expect a 1.0 car to be.

Likewise: more than capable of handling motorway slogs, probably 80% has been 1 up, 100 miles+. Regular commute now is 60 round trip & it's fine.

The one thing an Ecoboost isn't is rough; threes do have distinctive harmonics(echoes of sixes and twelves ) but overall smoothness , I think anyway ,is superior to any four I've driven.

Our 63 plate 1.0 Ecoboost which we've had since new is nearing 66k miles. No issues to report, average mpg 50-55.
The car is very light on consumables, rear tyres lasted 63k miles, front tyres around 30k and the front brake pads are less than 10% worn with the discs barely worn at all.
