Focus TDCi won't run

Hi, the wife's Focus 1.8 TDCI won't run. It turns over like it is going to start but then dies.

Very occasionally the car would go into limp mode and she would simply turn it off, restart and all would be fine again - only this time the car failed to restart.

I've changed the cam sensor with a working salvage part and checked there are no splits in the turbo pipes (same thing happened 3 years ago, giving same symptoms, due to split turbo pipe).

I plan to get the car to a garage with a Ford code reader to diagnose on Monday, but until then, does anyone have any other ideas I could try? Thanks.

Glow plugs?

Thanks for reply. How used are glow plugs on mild days? Wouldn't it start eventually rather than die?
