Hi! I'm a new member here so not quite sure where to post this, but I'm exploring the possibility of a Escort RS Cosworth replica. However, I can't find any decent 3 door, pre-facelift mk5s. and it then occurred to me that most of the kit would fit on a 5 door, which would be more practical for me anyway. The part I would struggle with would be the side skirts and the flared rear arches. Could these be modified to fit a 5 door? If so, how would one go about that? I only really have experience with engines and interiors, not bodywork.

No. Just no. Must be a wind up?

How can you build a replica of something that didn't exist?
Buy a different car instead of spending thousands making a car worth hundreds.

Or..................

You just don't know what an Orion was (no cosworth) and want to create a monster?

I used to own a genuine one.

Replicas get laughed at universally, they rarely look good and a 5 door will be a mess.

Don't do it, but don't bother saving your money in the vain hope of buying one. Unless you put away all your cash, the value of the car will outrun your saving potential. Just appreciate them for what they were.
