Basically, I did a quick check of engine oil, coolant, screen wash levels yesterday. I saw the coolant was running a little low and wanted to top this up, went to take the cap off only to find the valve stuck in the bottle. This is the first time I've tried removing the cap since buying the car 10 months ago, It's under warranty with the Ford direct scheme.

However, when doing a quick Google search a few other had the exact same issue. I came across one such person who to purchased their car from Evans Halshaw who were adamant, the replacement of the cap, eventually the entire bottle and cap was replaced at £160 and wasn't covered. I've reviewed the terms and conditions and can't see how this can be the case, only accidental damage would void the claim and as it is a common issue and I did nothing wrong other than unscrew the cap, does anyone have any advice before I go to the dealership?

They tried it one a few times when I purchased the car but I remained firm, it did help I had the facts that time to give them. Alternatively if anyone else has had the same issue, what was your outcome?

Thanks for any help.

We had this issue with our Mk7 (63 reg Ecoboost Fiesta). At the time of the issue the car was around 1-2 years old and having a service done at the time.

The cap was replaced F.O.C. I can't remember if it was the entire bottle or cap that was replaced though.
