Rather than engage in conversation with a certain someone, should we not just ignore his posts rather blatantly aimed solely at causing argument, not discussion.
Im getting a bit bored seeing his posts plastered all over PH. Maybe if he is ignored, he will go away!
Don't argue with stupidity. They only drag you down to your level and they have a lot more experience.Im getting a bit bored seeing his posts plastered all over PH. Maybe if he is ignored, he will go away!
btw I saw your car on the OC, zed. Very nice.

Oh and if you want road car examples (not that it's actually that relevant since the laws of physics hold true regardless - but you'd know that wouldn't you), what about Elise/Exige, any Caterham, Ariel Atom, Radical, Westfield and so on - and that's just the little manufacturers. Plenty of big 'uns as well
tell me a biggen then? as u only seem to have names racecar type lightweights.
OMG, I can barely type this from laughing so much, but, here is an example for you, typed by and quoted from yourself from one of your posts :tell me a biggen then? as u only seem to have names racecar type lightweights.

u can get a fiesta zetec-s for pretty cheap. group 8 insurance and handles amazingly.
So there you go, a FWD car, made by a big manufacturer and handles amazingly I like you, you make me laugh
For the rest of you, I highly recommend going through some of Vino's other posts, absoulte pearls of wisdom, until now I didn't realise that ALL French cars were sh1t, or that all S2000's are driven by women, or....well, I won't spoil it.
I am going to come to your car supermarket and you can teach me all your wisdom, if your boss lets you put the jetwash down and stop washing cars for long enough that is

Thanks mate!
I need to update my PH profile today now the zed has gone! Really pleased with the ST so far. Cant really put any meaningful comments on this thread as mine has the morego 290 conversion, but it really is a top car. Pulls like a train- id say more so than my zed did, and the handling, whilst not really as planted as the zed (for obvious reasons!) is spot on and can certainly be driven as quickly, if not quicker.
It also a great place to be- great stereo, GREAT seats and solid and refined- economy is even ok, managing to get 26-28mpg.
My car choice was between an ST and an RS. I went for the ST purely as it was a bit more refined for the kind of journey I do. In the real world, there would little or nothing in it between the two performance wise. Choosing one or the other is down to what and how you like to drive- the RS is a rally bred road car with a very effective lsd and all the hardware you'd want to attack your favorite b-road. The ST has a torque laden engine and a competent chassis which can easily tackle your favourite b-road if you wish. It also does the quiet and refined task too, which, for me, makes it a better choice if your on the motorway a bit more.
Modded versions however are a different kettle of fish but if thats your thing then both are a good platform. An ST with 290bhp and some suspension tweaks is, I can tell you, massively fun and very, very effective

and yes french cars are generally shit but as u tossers and then i pointed out there are exceptions to everything. u really are a geek stating lap times that u didnt even test and you dont know anything about. try actually driving one i never said it wasnt quick (as it is fukin well quick),and the a3 was, i just said it had so much power it goes loopy when u put ur foot down whereas an a3 will grip due to having not much power. and zetec-s `s do handle very well for a little car just look at the ratings in the back of any good magazine geekboy. and tell your dirty mum to stop calling here.
Ever heard the quote "It is better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt" - I suggest you think that one over.
no i havent heard that actually because i dont care to listen to the philosophy of a muppet who just thought it up, in fact i doubt any1 has heard of your moronic phrase. question: who are you dikhead.
answer: NOBODY !
sorry to all other viewers of this forum to take up almost a whole page but unlike certain people (J and sheepshagger etc) im only on here once a week or so as i have a life and friends. and didnt feel bothered to read all the criticism on the other page until id already answered his penisness about this page. anyway i have said all i have to say on the matter the st is better for everyday and the rs better on a track. and some people in here really are pathetic and need to get out more, and stay away from evo mag which constantly contradicts its self anyway, as they are in danger of becoming so stuck up their own arse that it could result in permanant poo-breath if it hasnt already.

Why do you say the FRS is better on a track? I've owned mine for almost 5 years and I've never been near a track, it's only loosly based on a tarmac spec rally car..but smoothed over for road use.The evo magazine has slated the RS agreed..but have you read the edition where an owner turned up unannounced when they where testing the mk5 Golf GTI and the Astra vxr...let the lads have a test drive and they where shocked in how well it behaved?
I'm wasting my time here Arn't I.

Actually no, here have:
I'm sure Abraham Lincoln or Mark Twain (no one is sure which of them it was) will appreciate your considered views.
Your intellect really does know every bound [HINT - That's me!!!] - can't spell, text speak, unhinged opinions based on your unquestionable knowledge of all matters (no matter that this contradicts all accepted knowledge in the big wide world).
While I find this all very amusing indeed, for the sake of the forum I will most likely post no more on this.
I would suggest that if you want to continue to contribute (and for people to read things for any other reason than amusement) then try coming out with something sensible in good old fashioned English and not chavvy 15 year old txt spk. If not then I would suggest that Barryboys or somewhere similar would be a more appreciative home.

First things first,
Never driven an RS, but own a 1.8TDCI Mk2, and got a mate who I go hooning with in a '56 reg ST3 in white - very '80's, looks good!
My repmobile is absolutely brilliant - no ST, but considering the power and spec, a truly impressive car......excellent mpg, great torque which embarrasses most other TDi's on the road.
The ST though is a bloody maniac. Quiet, refined, comfortable, luxurious even. (M66 & M65 trip). Then on through blacko, gisburn, hellifield, settle - twisty, punchy, and stuck to the road like a limpet.
The std focus can handle 50 mph bends at 80, but the ST can do better!
The ST sounds amazing; an off beat warble at low revs, then above 3500 rpm the volume pumps up and snarls on to 7000 rpm. The car pushes you in the back like a 18st 5'6" bouncer kicking you out of your favorite club - quick, to the point, sometimes painful!
From what I've picked up in the thread - well no car will impress as much as your bike. However, either a RS or ST will impress. However, the ST will impress constantly and daily. Also, newer car and more choice on the 2nd hand mileage!
Good luck, but by the range you are considering, then you can't go wrong.
At the end of the day, £14K is one hell of a pile of cash. Test drive a variety before you buy!
