Had mine 4 nearly 2 years now i have had a few problems (front shocks, rear wheel bearing, exhaust flex snapped) but its nothing u dont get with any other car on the rd as its 4 years old and has done nearly 60k. I 2 had some major problems with Ford dealer but after going 2 another (3rd) at the suggestion of fords customer service i was treated really well and they sorted a dodgy syncro on the gearbox outside of the warranty foc.

I have looked at changing the car but cannot find any other car (new st included) that can make me smile every time i drive it and cost so little to run every day.

Although i must admit that i have a dreamscience flash tuner on mine and the differance between it now and when standard is incredible best £500 ive ever spent.

Thirded smile

I have been looking for a car to replace the RS, but can't find anything !!

Obvious choice is Subaru, but don't want one, then Mitsibushi, but running costs go up, then.....well.....I can think of nothing that doesn't involve taking a major jump up a few levels frown

Plus, last week, I got offered the same as I paid for the car 18 months ago, what other car is going to do that for me ?? (I did get it cheap(er) in the first place though).

people who have standard Focus Rs's don't have a clue what the difference is with a remap on!
it's how the power should have been for the standard car.
best mod out there!

good cars or bad cars. must be varying build and servicing and tyres. my st may not be as much fun thrashing the life out of but everyday use its a much more comfortable and flexible car. the rs has held its value real well but they only made 3 times as many st`s and 1 two years old and with no leather and 25000 miles u wont get for much less than £15000 and in a shit colour prob with 5doors. thats still held its £17500 pretty well.

15k you can get an st3 with leather.
st1 is around 13k and thats 2 years old, another year and that will be down to about 9k, which makes
it roughly 47% depreciation over 3 years.

Just been reading a couple of threads about the RS and I can't believe some of the stuff being posted which is apparently fact about all RS'. I've had two in the past and they've been very reliable and very cheap to run given the performance. Some great stereotypes about the owners as well!

All I can say is check the car out yourself. Its a very practical car if you're looking for something you can use every day while also having something that's fun on the twisties and fast enough on the motorway, then go for it.
