My wife's 05 Focus has one of those quickclear screens with the very thin wires in it. Recently it half-stopped working; the nearside half works fine, but the offside half doesn't work at all.

I've spent the last 30 minutes on Google trying to find someone with a similar problem, and I've got nowhere.

Has anyone had this or know what would cause it?

They do die eventually but 2 1/2 years old is a bit young! Could be a wire has burnt out or just adodgy connection, but either way as it's still in warranty give it to your dealer to sort.

Not sure it still is in warranty; car was purchased from a company that disposes of ex-leasing vehicles. I thought manufacturer's warranty was only one year.

If it's a uk car and not an import then it'll have a 3yr 60k warranty. Although I suppose being ex-lease it might be over mileage.

On mine, each half of the Quick Clear screen has it's own power connection. It sounds like one of the connectors has come adrift.

Have a chat with Customer Services, when I called them on Friday they made mention specifically to me being outside 45 months. The other thing they said was 2nd owner, that bits not so good, but based on being an 05 plate you might get something out of them

Worst case do it on the glass excess on your insurance

Aha - that's probably going to be it then. Where abouts is the power connector?

Either connectors or screen and just to confirm what Paul said the screen is covered for three years or 60K miles whichever comes first.
