are they self adjusting?

The clutch on mine bits pretty close to the top, or rather on full chat if the clutch is pressed not much more than a touch then the revs start to climb, ie clutch slips. is the clutch appraoching the end of its life or can this be adjusted out?

They are self adjusting so it sounds like you may need a new one soon.

£142 recon/exchange - its the labour that'll be the biggest expense
