Hi,

I need to come to a descision on a hatchback for the bird, maximum 2 years old.

Focus ST - VW GTI FSI - Mazda MPS 4x4.

The last one has been reviewed in Circuit Driver Mag and seems ok.

The Gti is reckoned to be slightly more nimble, with the ST having straight line speed. You get a lot for your money with an ST3

Pick up a modded ST and you wont regret it Loads of car for the money and suprisingly fast

The Mazda6 MPS is rapid, a bit of a sleeper and a lot less common than the other two... I think i'd go for that to be different!

Just noticed you said hatch which rules out the 6 but the 3 is fwd not 4x4...

so it is, must have misread somewhere. If it was 4x4 with 257bhp i suppose subaru would be passing bricks! Still it seems to get the power down by all accounts due to stiff roll bars, 10mm lowering and other trick bits.
