Depending on condition I would say £600-700.

Have you thought about the Mondeo 2.0 Zetec conversion that can be done to the Mk3 Fiesta? Not sure how hard this is but all you really need is the mondeo donor car for about £400. 136bhp in a 900kg car is not bad...Also I think (read: Not sure) that the insurance group is taken from the Mondeo, which is group 9.
