Pretty much as the title suggests, I am getting the error mentioned when trying to put a cd on.

It is the in dash multichanger (2003 Focus), it has some discs in it.

Car wouldn't start the other day, battery had gone a bit flat due to non-use, started on jump leads and then cd wouldn't work.

It first showed I had no cd's. I then pressed the load button, where it picked up disc 1 and started playing it. Thought I had found the method, tried it for cd 2 and now get the cd error - E3 when trying to do anything, even put on disc 1.

So, anybody seen the problem before and had it resolved ? Is it an easy fix ? Can I do it ?

Basically, to get to the point, can anybody tell me what it is before I have to call up my local Dick Turpin Dealer and get robbed of £80 for the privledge ? rofl

Thanks in advance, J.

At a guess, since the battery was flat, do you need to re enter the security code? Does the radio still work?

Nice one, thank you, I did a quick search on the error, but the 5 mins my boss was out of the room didn't give me much time to keep looking wink

Right, deep breath and start taking stereo apart.......

Before taking it apaprt, try holding in the load and eject buttons whilst switching the unit on.

This thread has me thinking

I have just bought an 52 Mondeo with the same head unit

I get an "E4" error, which, on referral to the hand book indicates overheating of some sort

Does anyone have any ideas as to any possible solution?

Cheers
